The world is full of colours. Everything has its own colour. Colours are an important part of our daily lives; they give everything we see life and meaning. Colours help us connect with the world more deeply, from the calm blues of the sea to the warm glow of a sunset.
As kids, we learnt about many colours, such as white, black, red, green, blue, and so on. But these aren’t the only colours. You can talk about an object’s colour in terms of its colour, lightness, and saturation.
The colour reflects light from the item on the retina of the eye. We can tell what colour something is because it reflects the wavelength of light and sends the colour back to our eyes. When light hits an item, some colours bounce off and travel with the wavelength.
