A cosmetic is any material used to clean (apart from soap), enhance, or modify the skin, hair, nails, teeth, or complexion. We use cosmetics to condition hair, protect the skin, nails, lips, eyes, or teeth, or to beautify, preserve, and thus change the appearance.
A cosmetic is a mixture of chemical components made artificially or obtained from natural sources. We can use cosmetics for various purposes, including skincare and personal grooming. They can also be used to enhance natural features and cover up imperfections, such as when we use mascara on eyelashes to beautify our eyes.
Another benefit is that makeup may enhance a person’s features, add colour to their face, or completely alter their face to make them look like a different person.
