Use of Are in Negative Sentences About the Present State
We can use ‘are’ in simple sentences with the pronouns we, you, they, these, those, and any other plural noun. In the lesson ‘use of are ‘, we used ‘are’ in affirmative sentences.
In this lesson, we will use ‘are’ in negative sentences to describe the present state of being. But first, we shall see how to form these sentences.
Formation of a negative sentence
As we have to form a negative sentence, we should use ‘not’ with ‘are’.
So, the formation of this sentence is as follows:
- Subject(we/you/you/they/these/those) + are + not+ other words + full stop (.)
