Use of Am in Negative Sentences About the Present State
You know that am is used only with the pronoun I. In the previous lesson, we used ‘am’ in affirmative sentences. In this lesson, we will use am in negative sentences to describe the present state of being. But first, we shall see how to form these sentences.
♦ Formation of a Sentence
As this sentence is negative, we must use the negation word.
So, we use ‘not’ with ‘am’.
The formation of a sentence is as follows:
- Subject (I) + am + not +other words + full stop (.)
