In this sentence, ‘am’ is used with another verb.

In these sentences, we use ‘am’ as a helping verb with the main verb.

We should use the present participle of a verb, the ‘-ing’ form, and the word ‘not’ for negation.

Construction of a negative sentence using ‘am’

The sentence will be in the form:

  • I + am +not + (present participle) -ing form of the main verb + other words + full stop (.)
